Congratulations and welcome to the ranks of the mighty Khaos! We welcome you sincerely, and hope you will grow to love your new home as much as we do. This page is an overview of some things you can expect from Khaos, as well as some opportunities for you to help maintain and constantly improve our ever-growing tribe. Above all else, never hesitate to form and voice an opinion or offer a suggestion about anything in the tribe. You should always feel free to either note the tribe or chiefs, or even email the chiefs. You'll also find our established non-chief members a wealth of friendly information.

I. Map of the Khaos Keep

Here you will find a readable format of the map of the Khaos keep. It is also available for viewing at Recall by typing "read map", but we thought it would be nice to give you a copy in this format in case you want to print it or review it outside the MUD. If you have any questions about reading the map, just ask! Mufasa was kind enough to pull this together for us - just one example of how involved our members can be.

II. Reach a Chief

Following is our current Chief Roster and our respective email addresses. We are, of course, always available via the personal box and in person on the MUD, but if you ever want to express an idea that is kind of bulky to explain in the note system or would just rather send us something via email, we wanted you to have a venue to get ahold of us this way.

III. Khaos Committee Structure and Overview

You may have already noticed that the activities the tribe is involved with are broken into distinct groups, or committees. In an effort to keep the goings-on of the tribe streamlined and efficient, we have appointed committee heads and are working on making the committees more established via meetings and enhanced activities. Following is a list of the committees and their respective leaders. Please contact the team leader of any group you'd like to know more about, or would like to join! Get in on the ground floor :)

Recruiting Team (OrcBane Recruiters) - This 'committee' has been around for eons, and is an extremely important aspect of the tribe. The Recruiters are what help keep the lifeblood fresh and the playerbase solid. The name says it all - members are expected to keep an eye out for potential new recruits and approach them about questing for Khaos. This isnt a hardcore, in-your-face job, so don't be too put off if you're a little shy. There are many different recruiting tactics, and usually there's one that will fit your style. Chief Ekhart is in charge of the OrcBane Recruiters.

Social Team - This is a new team, and one which hasn't seen much activity yet. The vision of the Social Team is to host mudwide and innertribal activities for well, fun! Khaos is all about having fun and enjoying the MUD. The Social Team will ideally make sure the entire "world" is ever aware of that fact. We hope to hold parties and there are even some interesting activities in the works such as the Khaos Dating Service, which would be something of a matchmaking service. This is a team on the move, and is actively seeking members with a knack for public relations skills and that Khaos Charm! See Ged if you are interested.

RP Team - This is also a new team. Like the name says, the RP team is in charge of directing Khaos RP, mostly via the RolePlay note box. For the first time in months, Khaos was involved in a pretty solid RP thread not long ago. That's a real achievment! RP keeps the Khaos name out there and reaffirms to the mud and potential recruits that although Khaos is the 'party tribe', we're also good gamers, and have an awareness about our tribal history. If you're interested in helping out with RP, and even if you don?t think you'd like to write actual notes but have suggestions about the direction Khaos should head with RP, please see Daria or Thlayli!

Building Team (the Khaos Kharpenters) - If you don't see Chief Liquid for a few days, it's usually because he's up to his ears in blueprints, designing and ironing out plans for a new Keep, as well as working on a Khaos enhanced area. Khaos is always evolving and changing, and the Building Team plays a vital role in this aspect! See Liquid if you're interested in helping out with plans, writing descriptions and other building projects.

Quest Team (Khaos Qwest Kompany) - Not only do quests keep the Khaos name out there and provide a valuable service to the mud by offering fun activities - they help support every aspect of the tribe! Quests = Tribal Points (see explanation in the last section), and Tribal Points = more rooms and enhancements. If you think you'd like to dedicate time to working on quests, please see Ekhart.

IV. Newbie's Guide to Tribes on Mirk

This section is mostly included as a guide for people new to tribes. If you're new to MUDding, you might already be overwhelmed with the vast list of commands one needs to remember, and guess what! You have even more now! These are the key commands you might have use for, as a tribal member:

TMOTD - Tribal Message of the Day: This is the screen you'll see now when you log in to the mud as a Khaos member. It's mostly just a pretty picture to greet you to the MUD, and sometimes we'll include important announcements here, as well. Along the same lines, be sure to keep an eye on the Khaos ledger (Ledger Read Khaos). The ledger is our centralized location for keeping up with recruits and current & upcoming projects.

Tribestat - Tribal Statistics: tribestat gives you information about our current level of Tribal Points (also known as TP's, which are awarded to tribes much like VP's are awarded to players - they are given out for quests run and occasionally other reasons). Tribestat also lists information about our Arena "Champion" - the name we use when we fight as a tribe in the arena against other tribes and even Immortals. (See Help Arena)

Recall - It should be pointed out that "recall" will now take you to the Khaos Recall Tower, as opposed to Breecall, which takes you to Bree.

Ledger Read Chf - This ledger lists all of the chiefs for every tribe

V. General Info

Occasionally, we will ask for member input on an issue via a vote. The voting booth is located 2 down and one north of recall tower. See Help Booth if you are unsure of how to review the issue and cast a vote.

Also, each tribe has an immortal representative dedicated to them to assist with a variety of tribal/immortal issues. They act as a sort of liason between the tribe and the overall Tribal Imm, Sard, as well as helping out any number of things as needed. We are lucky enough to have the original khaotic weasel himself, Slarg, as our rep.

These are the basic commands and other information you might find useful. It would also be advisable to read up on the helpfile about tribes (Help Tribes).

We hope this gives you a good feel for the tribe, and answers many of the questions you might have. It would be impossible to list every single thing people might be wondering, though, so as always, just ask! We make every possible effort to ensure that Khaos is always an open door for our members. We want to hear what you have to say about anything and everything!

Again, we're very happy to have you as a new member, and hope you'll enjoy mudding with us!

Sincerely,

Daria & the entire Khaos family!
